The classic tour of Verona is on foot and lasts about 2hours. For insights to monuments, churches, museums etc, the route can be extended with additional hours or customized.

CLASSIC VERONA

The visit normally starts from Piazza Bra': meeting point Vittorio Emanuele II's statue.

The Piazza offers a rich variety of palaces of different periods and above all the wonderful roman amphitheatre Arena, built in the 1th century A.D. and considered the best preserved in the world

The visit continues to the medioeval Castelvecchio, Old Castle, and its beautiful crenellated


,bridge, to go on to Porta dei Borsari, Borsari Gate, the main city gate in Roman times, and reach the picturesque Piazza Erbe, the ancient roman forum. This square, where there is a market starting from the 12th century, was recently defined the most beautiful square in Italy by the English newspaper "the Guardian". From Piazza Erbe the visit continues to Piazza dei Scala family's power. Here you can admire medieval and renaissance palaces such as the crenellated Cangrande I Palace, the first Verona's Town Hall which became the seat of the court in Venetian times, and was then renamed Palazzo della Ragione, the elegant Loggia del Consiglio, the first Renaissance building in the Veneto Region.

Close to Piazza dei Signori are the Arche Scaligere, Scaligeri's tombs, an amazing creation of the International gothic style, a style of courtly sophistication. Soon after the Arche Scaligere we reach Via Sottoriva with its picturesque porticoes and its medieval atmosphere. Adige river is nearby and from it is possible to admire the wonderful panorama offered on the opposite bank by St. Peter's hill, the Roman theatre, the Austrian Barracks and Ponte Pietra, Stone Bridge, our most ancient bridge.

 

Going back to Via Sottoriva we will then reach the world famous Juliet's house where entering the courtyard Juliet's statue and Juliet's balcony are waiting for us.

On request it is possible to include in the itinerary other stops extending the duration of the tour or modifying it to comply with the 2-hour.
